First few days

Get water & sewer set up Call the Town Office to open your utility account. If you're on an acreage or in the RM rather than in town, the RM office handles this instead. First couple of weeks

License your pet Dogs and cats need to be registered with the town. Pet Licensing → Get set up with the clinic & pharmacy The Health Facility handles physician/NP visits, immunizations and chronic disease management. Quayle's Pharmacy is downtown on Bellamy. Health Facility → Pharmacy → Register kids for school or daycare Birch Hills Public School covers in-town families. TLC Daycare and the community pre-school handle the younger crowd. School → Daycare → Pre-School → Get a library card Part of the Wapiti network — you can order books from anywhere in Saskatchewan and pick them up here. Also has kids' programming. Once you're settled

Sign the kids up for something Minor hockey and ball register in the fall. There's also the dance centre, the summer playground program, and the skate park. Minor Sports → Dance Centre → Playground Program → Find your people There's more here than you'd expect — a ladies' walking group, moms' mornings out, quilting, pickleball, curling, the Legion, the 50 Plus Club, and senior hockey and baseball teams. There's a golf course, the museum and its thrift shop, and Struthers Lake about 20 minutes out.
